Some people say, there is no point to systemic advocacy, nothing ever gets better.
A: Do nothing and it could get a whole lot worse. Sometimes just holding the line is making significant progress.
We are entering the loop.

We are going to be all flipped upside down and spin around and we’ll be lucky if we end up where we started, at the end of all of this. But as you will notice the line keeps moving up and keeps advancing.
Loops are inevitable.
Pedulum swings are also inevitable. They are part of how system works. We expect them and know they are coming. And when we get through this one, in the future…there will be more loops. Society has been through many loops. They have been part of our progress.
Sometimes the pendulum swings and it shows people how devastating and wrong they were. History is marked by hard learned lessons. Humanities slip is showing. When resources are tight, the dark side seeps out. More of it.
So, here we are.
These are the cards we have been delt. The only question now is, what are we going to do with it? How do we take this and build what we have been seeking. A tighter community? New court decisions?
If we want to help people, we are going to need to figure out how to turn this shit into fertilizer.
I often reflect on nature when I am trying to mentally or emotionally sort things out. Nature is brutal and intelligent. I have been trying to process our shift in provincial government power.
Elephants know the water is okay to drink because the hippos are in it. Hippos fight in the water. They shit in it. When they fight and swim around they stir everything up in the water. The elephants know that the water isn’t toxic from bacteria of stagnate water. The ecosystem is active, processing it’s environment.
Movement = health.
Things are moving! Time to have a spa mud bath in the swirling hippo manure and get to work.
